Who We Are
The MAKRS Society exists to create experiences in Raleigh and the surrounding areas by providing farmers markets, pop-ups and festivals!
Founded in 2020 by Max Rivera, we started out as just one location running pop-up markets at North Hills. Since then we have multiple locations where we run pop-up markets, have run Holiday festivals, music festivals and this is only the beginning!
When you come to our events, we want to immerse you in an all around experience that allows you to be present and connect with other people.

Meet the Dream Team
Max Rivera, Founder/CEO
Hey there! I was born in NJ, but was raised in Raleigh and call it home! In my free time I enjoy trying new restaurants, playing pickleball, and watching movies. I’ve been in the event industry since 2019 and have always loved supporting local businesses. I saw a need for there to be more creative events that bring the community together and connect them to local businesses. My favorite part about this role is to see the events come together and watching people interact in a fun environment!
Madeline, Creative Director
Hello there! My name is Madeline and I’m obsessed with design. I grew up in California, but have been in North Carolina for 10+ years. During the day, I work full-time as a brand manager for a multi-million consulting company. On the weekends and nights, I manage the brand experience, website, and graphic design of this incredibly, passionate team. I’m also a maker myself! I love making jewelry, participating in markets, and connecting to the community.
Melanie, Event Coordinator
Hello and welcome, my name is Melanie (she/her/hers)!
I was born and raised in Garner, NC, and I identify as an advocate, ally, dog and cat mom, big sister, daughter, cousin, niece, granddaughter, fiancė, and friend - just to name a few (: I received my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in 2021 from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina with a cross-concentration between macro social work within communities and organizations, and clinical social work focusing on individuals and families. The ocean, sunsets, my pups (Lennon and Mojo), my cat (Ringo), Winnie the Pooh, sappy quotes, family and friends, The Beatles, and group pictures are a few things that feed my soul and remind me how grateful I am to be alive!
Callie, Graphic Designer
Hi! I'm Callie! A creative from Winston-Salem, NC, I spent 10 years in Raleigh going to school and then working in college sports as a women's basketball assistant coach and director of athletic communication! I eventually swapped industries entirely and now work as a graphic designer for a global tech/IT consulting company. I love being able to create and design every day in my line of work. In my free time, I freelance as a photographer and creator and I also enjoy painting, doodling, playing and watching sports, and getting outside with friends! I'm a newlywed and cat mom and am a new resident of Farmville, VA but my heart still lies in Raleigh!
